Bel Air Presbyterian Church partnered with Discover the World and their sister organization in Kenya, The Shepherd’s Home Children’s Sanctuaries. Our team worked with three of these sanctuaries that foster children who have been orphaned by A.I.D.S.  Shepherd’s Home has three orphanages, one located in a slum in Nairobi, one in the smaller suburb of Sigona and boy’s home in the town of Gilgil near Lake Nakuru (north of Nairobi).  The team brought our helping hands by offering vacation Bible school, sports ministry, teacher support, games, activities and construction/improvements projects.

“And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give
other people permission to do the same.”
- Nelson Mandela

"Everybody can be great...because anybody can serve.
You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to
make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need
a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”

- Martin Luther King, Jr.

“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen
or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.”
- Helen Keller
